Clinical Info
Pre Clinical
Animal studies performed on rabbits by Ortho-Ion showed in-vivo safety and performance of the device.
Clinical
Three cases of trauma patients with bone deformity and/or partial non-union and Osteomyelitis, who had recurrent flare-ups and hospitalizations, were treated with OID. Radiological and clinical improvement was impressive.

The physician’s point of view
It is a simple and short procedure. There is no need for general anesthesia and in most cases the patient could be discharged the same day from the hospital. The treatment is cheap and can replace or shorten a long duration of IV antibiotic therapy. In the first 3 cases we have done so far we have a success rate of 100%. All patients returned to full weight bearing with no recurrence so far.
The patients’ opinion
We had a painful history of few previous surgical interventions and IV antibiotics treatments, and years of our lives being disturbed by physical disabilities. Practically, after the OID treatment life has started its turn back to normal, pain gradually decreased, we began to freely walk again, and the dependency on hospital visits was considerably reduced.
